Coconut ShyVisiting the fair with the family I couldn`t believe my eyes when I saw an old fashioned
Coconut Shy. I remembered them from when I was a child, but hadn`t seen one at a fairground for years. The great thing I recalled about playing the
Coconut Shy was being able to aim a ball at the coconuts, send them flying out of their holders and walk away with a prize. Naturally I was excited about seeing something from my childhood, but the kids - at first - couldn`t understand what all the fuss was about. Why wwould anyone want to hurl balls at coconuts, they asked. But once I`d shown them what to do, they soon got into it. When they realised that the
Coconut Shy is all about a test not only of strength, but accurate throwing, the kids really got into the competitive spirit. After a few throws, my eldest was really getting the hang of taking aim and delivering a killer throw at the
